We learned a lot from our first grow. Mainly we learned what genetics work best under our grow lighting. We also learned when to start testing for CBD/THC levels. Right now we are looking at round 1 potency tests at the beginning of week 5 of flower continuing daily the whole week until we start seeing potency levels of delta 9 THC at around .25%.
We also are using our grow facility as a hemp research site. Cultivating hemp indoors for higher potency with more terpenes is the main goal for indoor hemp cultivation. Our product is higher in Cannabinoids and Terpenes than anything you would be able to find outdoors. We also are able to mitigate pests, molds and other contaminates much easier as we control the total environment.
This grow we are focusing on defoliation. When cultivating cannabis, we have been defoliating plants approximately one week before flipping the grow cycle to flower, and then again one week after flower. We find this stimulates growth and allows light to penetrate the canopy of the plants at the beginning of flower to produce more dense flower. We are going to defoliate half of the plants in the room twice and the other half once. That way we will know which method produces bigger yields.
We plan to offer 3 new strains from this harvest which will include Cutie, Sweet Tea and Yummy. We chose these strains because they are stable genetics and produce a nice variance of terpenes. Look for high levels of Myrcene, Pinenes, Caryophylene and Lemonene from this upcoming harvest. After we dry and cure, we should have this new batch for sale by the end of July. Stay tuned!
